About South Bank Melbourne:

Southbank stretches along the Yarra River from Melbourne Exhibition Centre (near Crown Casino) through to Princes Bridge / St Kilda Rd. With the cbd on the opposite bank, and offering a multitude of dining and entertaining options, Southbank is well deserving of its reputation as Melbourne's premier entertainment district.

Entertainment within the defined Southbank area includes the Arts Centre, encompassing the State Theatre, Playbox theatre and George Fairfax Studio, as well as the Hamer Hall (formerly Melbourne Concert Hall). Southgate is another focal point in Southbank and offers upmarket retail stores and dining, as well as a large food court. Markets are held on the Yarra River at this location each Sunday.

Follow the path around the river another 200 metres and you'll find yourself at the start of Docklands.
